My Mother the Cyber Stalker :)

I learned this weekend that my mom Googles me. She found my blog. Hi mother. The CIA really should enlist her for her webstalking abilities. :D

Your Girl is Lovely Hubbell...

So, the infinite wisdom of Carrie Bradshaw strikes again. I just finished watching the episode where big gets engaged, and the girls compare it to "The Way We Were," with Robert Redford (Hubbell) and Barbra Streisand (Katie) . Then I thought to myself, oh my god... they're right. There have been a few guys that have passed in and out of my life this year, and suddenly it all made sense. Carrie said to the other girls "There are two types of of women in the world. Normal Girls, and Katie's." I couldn't help but laugh, because it's so true. In the movie Katie has Curly hair, so she's wild. Then Hubbell ends up with a straight haired girl, so she's calmer. Get the metaphor? Well I am clearly a curly Katie...

So this year we'll call him boy #1, I was too Katie for. And believe it or not, he now likes a straight haired girl... fancy that. Boy #2... well he really has nothing to do with this scenario, but that just fell apart. And then- this is really interesting- boy #3 was too Katie for ME! He apparently was telling everyone how I was the one he wanted to settle down and have a real committed relationship with. But I'll be honost with you, I don't think he is capable yet of having one of those.

And now there's Jason. Carrie left the episode with a great quote, “Maybe some women aren't meant to be tamed. Maybe they just need to run free til they find someone just as wild to run with them.” And for me, right now.. that person I want to run wild with is him... and I can actually be "a Katie" again. A little ironic, huh? :)

Zero Gravity Wedding

I happen to be addicted to wedding shows, it's my guilty pleasure. After watching them I have all kinds of crazy wedding dreams, so my boyfriend has banned me from watching them before I go to sleep. However, that doesn't fix my obsession with all things wedding related. Not that I am looking to get married anytime soon, but they're just so pretty.

So in these shows I've noticed that more and more people are opting for non-traditional weddings. Megan and I were talking about the new venues people are starting to explore for their weddings. I told her that I thought zero gravity was the next frontier... oooh if only we had made a bet.

Follow the link to check out more "wacky weddings" including roller coasters, a jail, a funeral home, suba diving, and a top of a double decker bus. I think the zero gravity takes the (wedding) cake on this one though. :)

Sex and the Suburbs (not starring Sarah Jessica Parker)

I was thinking the other day, that I know people who match the characters on Sex and the City. Everyone has an idea of who they would be in their own heads, but really appear to be a completely different person. For example, you may think you're a Charlotte, when REALLY... you're a Samantha. Not that being a Samantha is a bad thing, as long as you know you are. Then there are people who are a mix between characters.

For example, I know one person in particular who is a Samantha/Miranda mix. If you asked said person, they would probably tell you that they would be a Charlotte or a Carrie. In the eyes of others, this person is definitely an S&M Mix (Samantha/Miranda). To fullfill the Samantha side, you have to carelessly go through guys, and to fullfill the Miranda side you have to be needy and difficult. Now both characters have good sides too, for example, Samantha knows what she wants, is good at what she does, and gets all the cute guys. Miranda... well ... at least she's a red-head, so I have to stick by her there.

Anyways I guess the point is, in my opinion it's better to know how other people see you and embrace it. It does you no good trying to fool yourself into thinking you're someone other than you are. It's like... Margerine and butter. Of course I can believe it's not butter... because it's just not butter! So at least stop pretending and face up to who you are. Who knows, you may find you like that better than the person you were pretending to be.
